Steps
- Ask the airline counter what you are entitled to, and keep every receipt.
- Delay compensation is based on your arrival time compared with your booking.
- Bag missing? Report it at the baggage desk before you leave the arrivals hall and keep the report number. A bag not delivered within 21 days can be treated as lost.
- Valuables in checked bags are covered only if you declared them to the airline before check-in.
- Complain to the airline first, within 60 days. The airline has 7 days to reply.
- No reply, or not resolved? Escalate to GACA within the same 60 days, with the airline's complaint reference. GACA's number is 1929.
Important: Amounts are in SDR, an IMF unit. GACA uses about SAR 5.1 per SDR, and the rate changes daily. Cancellations for safety, security or force majeure reasons can change what is owed.
