Work & rights

If you are reported 'absent from work' (huroob)

What it means and what you can still do.

General information, not advice. This page summarises publicly available rules in plain language. It is not legal advice or a recommendation to take any action. Procedures, fees and fines change without notice and can differ by case. The official portal below is the only authoritative source.

Steps

  1. Check your status in Absher or Qiwa. A report changes your status and blocks most services.
  2. Act quickly. There is a limited window after the report in which you can transfer to a new employer through Qiwa or arrange a final exit.
  3. If the report is false (for example you were working, or your salary was unpaid), file a labor complaint with HRSD and keep evidence: payslips, messages, attendance records.
  4. Get help from your embassy's community welfare section if you need legal support.

Important: Ignoring a report can lead to detention and deportation. Get advice early.
