Resign the right way (2025 rules)
Since 19 February 2025 the Labor Law defines resignation and sets a 30-day response window.
General information, not advice. This page summarises publicly available rules in plain language. It is not legal advice or a recommendation to take any action. Procedures, fees and fines change without notice and can differ by case. The official portal below is the only authoritative source.
You need: Your contract details, notice period and planned last working day.
Steps
- Submit your resignation in writing. Where your employer uses Qiwa, submit it there so it is recorded.
- Your employer can accept it, delay it, or reject it.
- If the employer does not respond within 30 days, the resignation is treated as accepted.
- Serve your notice period as your contract and the law require.
- Use the End of service calculator to check your award before your final settlement.
